Originally from California, Bay Area. Filipino-American. Currently living in Oahu, Honolulu, Hawaii USA.
Winette has been oil painting since elementary with a lifelong love of painting, drawing, photography and interior decorating but her true passion has always been in oil painting.
Winette, a self-taught artist who has a deep interest in nature and a fascination with Landscape Art. Her interest with oil painting began at the age of 8, after being inspired by the late Bob Ross, an American painter who hosted the popular television show series, The Joy of Painting.
She stopped painting during high school and then started up again after moving to the beautiful State of Hawaii (Oahu) to attend the University of Hawaii, in which she graduated with a bachelors degree in Business Management, Marketing & Real Estate. The non-stop breathtaking scenery of Hawaii only inspired her to paint more and more.
Her works are rich in color, concentrating most on dreamy landscapes, swimming koi's, portraits and the beautiful cherry blossom tree.
Oil painting has always been a hidden-hobby until December of 2010, when someone offered to purchase one of her paintings. Her first sale gave her the confidence & encouragement to turn her hidden-hobby into a business.
She has sold over 500 of her original oil paintings since 2010 to Buyers in Canada, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, England and Australia. And within the USA.....California, Hawaii, Seattle, Colorado, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Texas and Florida to name a few.
ArtbyWinette’s artwork has been showcased in juried exhibitions at both the Honolulu and Kapolei Hale, as well as at the Ho'omaluhoa Botanical Garden in Kaneohe and the Downtown Art Center Exhibits. She has also been featured multiple times at the Bishop Square Pauahi Tower Building in Downtown Honolulu.
Most prominently, 27 of her oil paintings have been commissioned by the well-known teppanyaki restaurant chain in Hawaii, Tanaka of Tokyo, which operates three locations: the Waikiki Shopping Plaza, Outrigger East Hotel Waikiki, and Ala Moana Shopping Center. Each of these commissioned artworks features Japanese themes, showcasing her signature ArtByWinette cherry blossoms in triptych, along with depictions of Japanese gardens, samurai portraits, and landscapes featuring pathways and forest pastures.
Winette is an active member of the Windward Artist Guild, the Association of Hawaii Arts, and the Society of Asian Art of Hawaii, Inc.
Winette’s oil paintings are often described as calming, sensual, emotional, timeless, simple and elegant. Her art makes the viewer feel a sense of relaxation and centeredness, bringing a sense of peace and rest to the area where it is displayed.
